NCLS Delivery Services
In 1949, a State owned three-quarter ton truck and later a one and one-half ton Ford chassis with a special station wagon body were used to transport books to the surrounding community libraries in Northern New York. Each library received one delivery per week, except during winter months when materials were mailed. This was the beginning of what is now one of the largest library system delivery areas in New York State, the North Country Library System.
NCLS consists of 65 member libraries, each receiving one delivery per week, with 29 higher volume libraries currently receiving a second delivery per week. NCLS delivery drivers travel over a combined 1500-mile per week, covering an area of nearly 6200 square miles! It’s a tradition that has been carried out for over 55 years, with many different delivery drivers at the helm. They have all, however, shared one common goal…a commitment to dependable, friendly and courteous service. |

A 10 year employee with NCLS, Bernard is now in charge of NCLS Delivery Services. Interests include coaching baseball and soccer for children ages 6 to 17, music, childhood education and advocacy, firefighting, writing music, gardening, and currently serves as the Youth Music and Creative Arts Director at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Watertown, NY! |

Delivery Driver / Maintenance
A 2 year employee with NCLS, Russ is one of our delivery drivers and also works in our Maintenance Department. Interests include hunting, fishing, gardening, reading and sports. |

Delivery Driver
A new employee with NCLS, as of 9 February 2006 Richard A. Beehm is another one of our delivery drivers. Other interests include the repair of different types of mechanical and electrical equipment, some digital equipment as well. |

Dylan Reed
Relief Delivery Driver
A new employee with NCLS since 9 November 2007. This gentleman is a fellow North Country resident who has earned a B.A. Degree in history from Potsdam University. His hobbies are that of playing guitar, snowboarding and skateboarding. Most favorite books: Alexandria Links, by Steve Berry. Inclusively, has really enjoyed the book No Country for Old Men, by Cormac Mc Cathy.
